This Week in Couponing
Tomorrow (Tuesday) only, Quaker cereal for $1.20 a box!
Albertsons has a $3 off 5 Quaker brand products coupon in their weekly ad, available at the front of the store. There are multiple copies, and each has two of these wonderous coupons. The bottom line is that the following cereals (generally about $3.50 a box) are now $1.20 each: Life, Cap'n Crunch and Quaker Oat Squares, in various flavors. That makes the Quaker Oat Squares 7.5 cents an ounce! Matt's favorite cereal in the Malt'O'Meal brand is usually 13 cents an ounce at Walmart, so this is a good deal for any cereal, much less fancy smancy name brand cereal. Also $1.20 are Quaker Chewy Granola bars (yum!) and can o' oatmeal (as opposed to single serve packets) and instant grits. For details, click here. The grocery week starts over on Wednesday, so I'm a little late on the heads up. Remember that to use the coupon (and thus get the super awesome price), you'll want to buy in multiples of 5. This sale doesn't come around very often, so stock up!
Walgreens, Chips for $1.25 a full bag, Pepsi $0.63/2L or $1.50/12 pack:
Ahh, Walgreens! We have a bit of a love/hate relationship. Normally I wouldn't recommend non-couponers to attempt a Walgreens senario, but there is one exceptional deal to be had.
They have a SuperBowl deal on Pepsi products: Tostitos, Lays, Doritos, Pepsi (naturally), Gatorade, and Mountain Dew. The deal is buy $20, get 10 Register Rewards, which are like a coupon that can be used on anything in the store. So, for example, the chips are all $2.50 each, which is not a bad deal in and of itself. But if you buy $20 worth of chips (8 bags, for those counting), they will give you $10 to spend in the store, effectively cutting the price in half. That's $1.25 for a full-sized bag of chips. Yeah, pretty awesome. The trick is finding something worthwhile to spend the 10 Register Rewards on. They expire after two weeks, so if you are a non-couponer, you might want to buy your $20 of Pepsi products, get your Register Rewards (they always put it in the bag, so don't forget to grab them!) and then do a second transaction of just over $10 to use the Register Rewards on. If it sounds complicated, it is, but only a little bit. You won't be using any coupons other than the Register Rewards, so you shouldn't run into any trouble, but if you have any questions there is a quick tutorial HERE (scroll down to the Walgreens part) and you can always call me. The Walgreens on Boonville is my favorite, but you shouldn't have problems with any of them if you just want to do two transactions.
