Weddings, weddings...

Just wanted to let everyone know how the weddings went.

Err.. they went well.

That's pretty much it; there were the usual tensions and things forgotten and all that jazz. Evan and Jenni forgot their marriage license and came back to check on it and make sure it was all squared away. I'm pretty sure I would not have done that. God saw; it's probably ok. Their wedding was at a beautiful lovely church, and their reception was in a lovely historical type building. And yes, we got lost on the way to the church, lost on the way to the reception, and we got to the church half an hour before the wedding and still had to change and shave (well, only Matt on that last one) and all that, but we totally made it in before the bride, and even before the grandmothers, I think. After that wedding we went to dinner with Evan's family (Matt's aunt, uncle, and cousin) and had a wonderful time laughing and talking. The memorable phrase of the wedding was uttered here: Matt was telling a story about his friend who was all but struck by lightening in Iraq, his aunt heard "all BUTT struck" and we all had a really good laugh about that.
Doug and Diane's wedding was also fun. We got to get to know Jenni a little better (Evan was playing his violin at Doug's wedding... very generous, there), swam in the pool at the expensive hotel (Matt and I were staying at the Motel 6 across the interstate, ha!), and again had some good times with family. I got to help serve and set up for the rehearsal dinner (Matt did too), which I had a lot of fun doing. Being useful and all that. Diane seemed really sweet, too.

Yup, so lots of driving later, we're safely back in North Carolina, our home was not eaten by a tornado, and we're generally back to our old selves. This involves eating pie with friends, if I can pry Matt from his computer game.

I love you, even if I don't call you because I'm a bad daughter. Or friend or sister or whatever.

You might have remembered the marriage license, but there was the car keys incident...
