The Honeymoon is Over...

Helen and I have finally begun our new life together as a married couple. It has been so exciting to learn more about her and to remember every day that I get to spend all my time with her and to wake up next to her every morning. We are now officially in North Carolina. We are staying with some gracious friends (my first roommate in the Marines Corps and his wife) and managed to find an apartment today. It was quite providential, actually. We had a huge list of places that we could look and it was beginning to become intimidating, when we had the brilliant idea to eliminate those places that didn't have open apartments. Well, that narrowed it down to about 3 places that we could look and when we went to visit them we discovered that the most inexpensive was also in the best part of town, had the nicest buildings, had the nicest landlady, and was the closest to our church. We signed the lease and will move in on either Sept 1st or 5th, depending on how well the out-going tenant cleans up. In the mean time I will make the 1 hour trip to work every morning, but at least Helen has her other car, so things will go especially smoothly.

God has been so generous to us. We have a great apartment, we have plenty of money, we have two cars that both get very good gas mileage, we have a great church family, we have great friends at home to support us. I cannot wait to see what He has yet in store for us.

Ludus has begin to struggle a little. Fewer of our members are posting, and I'm trying to post every day, but there's often nothing to write.

Anyhow, more later...

The New Era Dawns...

Helen and I are finally getting married :-D on the 14th of August. I really don't have much to say except that this is the happiest that I have been in my entire life. I am madly in love with Helen, she is entirely perfect for me.

After we are married we will go on a 3 week honeymoon. Helen will skip a semester of college (about which her mother is not happy) and live with me in NC until the beginning of the spring semester, after which time I should soon be leaving for Iraq. Other than that, life remains extremely uninteresting. So prayers and greetings are always welcome, but time may be limited.

Until next time...
